General Rules for AND and OR:

AND: Both terms have to be 1, or TRUE, for the result to be 1, or TRUE.

OR: Only 1 term has to be 1, or TRUE, for the result to be 1, or TRUE.

2 Conditions need to be met to apply the absorption rule:

  • Operators inside and outside the brackets must be different.
  • Term outside the bracket must also be inside the brackets.
